Set in the healing sanctuary of Ulpotha, this retreat is an invitation to return to yourself. Surrounded by nature’s stillness, we will move gently, breathe deeply, and listen to the wisdom within.

Over four days, you’ll journey together through movement flows designed to awaken your body’s natural intelligence. With a grounded blend of Yoga, Movement Therapy, Authentic Movement, Somatics, and Meditation, we’ll slow down and reconnect with the body’s inner rhythm.

These practices support nervous system regulation, self-trust, and embodiment, offering space to pause, release, ground, and cleanse.
Whether you’re new to movement or deep in your practice, this retreat invites you to explore your inner world with kindness and curiosity.

When you arrive, you feel an unaccustomed lightness as the digital world drains away. It happens the moment you step out of your vehicle and feel gently but firmly grounded. Ulpotha is a rare example of a traditional Puranagama village, where you'll sleep in earthen huts and feel connected to the land. You'll eat delicious traditional Sri Lankan vegetarian food, much of it grown on-site, and experience the embodiment of metta, or loving-kindness, that permeates Ulpotha.

Because Ulpotha sits in the heart of Sri Lanka, the climate here is surprisingly gentle. There’s no need for air conditioning or fans, and without electricity the evenings glow with the soft light of flares, candles, and lamps. As dusk falls, the village comes alive in a way that feels timeless and magical.

Practicalities are quietly taken care of. There is limited Wi-Fi and roaming should you need to connect, and a place to charge your phone or other essentials.

You’ll share a simple twin hut, each with its own character. Beds are wide, comfortable, and draped with mosquito nets. Nearby, you’ll find communal bathrooms and open-air showers that are as refreshing as they are memorable.

In between yoga and Ayurveda, you might swim in the rain-fed lake with its silky waters, or wander into the surrounding hills. Life here is about experiencing things as they are natural, unhurried, and unforgettable.

So relax and leave your concerns and preconceived notions behind. What Ulpotha offers you is an uncanny sense of being grounded in its barefoot luxury.

Spaces are limited, bookings now open. Come as you are. Leave more deeply connected to your body, your breath, and your becoming.
