Treatments

Panchakarma at Ulpotha

Authentic, village-based Ayurveda: from a 3-day taste to a full Panchakarma treatment course, guided by our resident Ayurvedic doctor and taken at the unhurried pace of the village.

What it is

Two kinds of therapy, one consultation

Whatever personalised elements come out of your consultation, every Ayurveda treatment at Ulpotha includes both preparatory and elimination therapies.

Preparatory therapies

The ones everyone likes, and most Ayurveda is known for: gentle massages, warm oil applications, steam baths, saunas and herbal baths.

Elimination therapies (Panchakarma)

Panchakarma means the five elimination therapies: inhalation, purgation, emesis, enemas and bloodletting. In traditional village-based Ayurveda, the focus is on inhalation and purgation; the latter three are not prescribed or performed at Ulpotha, nor are they necessary given Ulpotha's holistic way of living.
