Experience the healing pathways of the water deity, Soma, in the Enchanting setting of Ulpotha. Soma (meaning the Moon’s nectar in Sanskrit) is a celebration of water, balance and renewal.

Beginning on the eve of Maha Shivaratri, this transformative five day experience is the perfect place to honor the essence of your devotional practice.

Ulpotha is a self-sustaining agricultural community spanning 25 acres in the jungle heartland of Sri Lanka. When you arrive you can leave the digital world behind.

Ulpotha is a living permaculture village and you will sleep in earthen huts and feel connected to the land. Much of the food is grown on-site and the whole atmosphere at Ulpotha is permeated with metta (loving-kindness).

We recommend you join for the full event to get the most from your stay but we understand that is not possible for everyone. Late arrival is possible and we request a two night minimum stay.

The Rs 15,000/night price includes full board accommodation and meals, plus yoga classes with Tara and Hania. Bodywork therapies with Franco (Rs 10,000/session) are to be booked in advance or arranged and paid directly on-site with Min and Franco.

Sattvic Sadhana ~ Yogic Arts & Luna studies for Rejuvenation

Tara underwent her formative Vinyasa Teacher Trainings 500RYT at Radiantly Alive Yoga School from 2012 in Ubud.

While incorporating the science of Ayurveda she discovered an approach to share the true essence of Yogic Arts with others.

With consistent curiosity she continues to enjoy self-directed study in a myriad of styles branching from the Krishnamacharya lineage of yoga, Vedic and Evolutionary Astrology, and traditional and contemporary forms of Ayurveda. Humbled to share the essence of her findings through the evolving journey of integrative practices she has entitled Sattvic Sadhana.

Sattvic Sadhana is an evolutionary form of Vinyasa yoga or movement meditation that draws momentum from the sister sciences of Yoga, Ayurveda and Astrology. The practice is slower-paced, dynamic, and meditative.

Franco

You are the Sea ~ bodywork / massage

Trained in Esalen massage Franco spent the last 15 years developing his own bodywork program called YOU ARE THE SEA.

YAS is about embracing the organic and the fluid forces that live within us. Franco sees massage as a primal form of art, where the therapist intuitively tunes in to awaken the participant’s true voice. YAS philosophy sees the body as an intelligent being as a whole with the tools to regenerate and restore itself and that every being can access their own awareness via this truth.

The therapy treats the body through conscious deep tissue techniques, long integrative and gentle harmonic strokes along with rocking, stretches and acrobatic postures.

Sessions are 60 minutes at a rate of Rs 10,000 during this retreat.

Hania

Musical Artist, humming & chanting

Sri Lankan born Hania Luthufi is a vocalist, music educator and a yoga practitioner. She spent five years in a music conservatory in Shantiniketan to pursue her Bachelors in Indian classical music and moved unto Calcutta for another five years to sit by the feet of her Guru Pandit Shantanu Bhattacharrya for a more immersive training. In her many years there Hania has developed a deeper understanding of sound and silence.

She has conducted voice workshops in Colombo, Calcutta, Geneva, Bologna, Istanbul, Izmir and Barcelona.

NADA YOGA
In this course Hania will facilitate congregational humming and share mantras that encourage expression, healing, and communication.

These mantras and gentle pranayamic practices will encourage us to use our voices with grace and freedom, in either speech or song.
